"Each day you stole a part of mine, until all that was left of me was nothing more than a vessel of pain."

I wanted to express sadness.
But I feel that something is wrong but I can't put my finger on it. So I am upset and did not finish it. If someone knows what the error is please tell me! :/

edit: Thanks guys. I have followed your input and now I like it much better! :)

I love your paintings, the details are superb
i think perhaps the reason she doesnt look as sad as you'd hoped is her eyebrows...there is lots of expression in her eyes & mouth, but the eyebrows are curving down where they should be lifting a little upwards at the center of her face...i hope that makes sense

I think the problem is that her eyes don't look watery enough. You've given the iris that really shiny-just-been-crying look, but because the whites of the eyes (especially where they meet the lower eyelid) aren't showing any watery shinies the iris stands out too much making her look a little indignant. I think the mouth is spot on - when you focus your attention to the mouth she does indeed look sad, so I think it's the eyes.

ceara-finn is also right about the eyebrows, they should curve up a little. However, that might depend on what kind of sadness you're trying to portray, I think it can be done without curving the eyebrows, but if you want a vulnerable looking sadness working the eyebrows will work wonderfully.

I think she's captivating...

This is utterly amazing. The textures in the hair are gorgeous, and the tattoos (?body pain?) are also very well done.

I wonder if what gives you the feeling of something wrong is the lighting? The face and the shoulder seem to be lit from the front & right of the pic, but the hair seems to be lit from the front & left. It's very subtle and most people wouldn't notice it or be bothered by it - but it could be your problem.
